Grunge

Re-awaken the teen spirit and feel the 90's vibe with a floral printed dress, denim vest and a pair of lace-up boots.

A closer look on the floral prints.

Since the band Nirvana released its second album during the 90s, the sound and music <insert favorite 90s band here> have been expressed and translated into clothes, thus, inspiring grunge fashion. Consider Alice in Chains, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.

The trend is characterized by layering and a laid-back, cascual feel and sometimes rebellious. With distressed/ripped jeans you can certainly pull-off this look. Bbbbuuutt, I chose the casual vibe.

Grunge staples include plaids, graphic tees, floral-printed dresses, denim and thrifted items. It's the not messy-messy look. Most of the colors come in a dark palette.

Lace-up / combat boots were famous during the era. High-top sneakers came in second. Envision chunky pairs.

Accessories include dark colored stockings, beanies / bandanas, minimal or no jewelry at all.

In fashion, it's about evolution. Current trends have been tweaked and are now more sophisticated but the original style is still there. A fresh vision but still comes home to its pioneer design.
